Joseph is a lifelong enthusiast of military history and militaria collecting, with a particular focus on the Cold War era. A self-taught historian, his passion was first ignited by his parents’ vivid accounts of their service in Germany during the 1980s. Growing up in the 1990s, Joseph immersed himself in books to expand his knowledge and began building his collection with meaningful family heirlooms—his father’s uniforms and a German police hat that he was gifted from his uncle. Over the decades, this deep interest has culminated in the founding of the Cold War Outpost, a dedicated platform committed to preserving, researching, and sharing the stories, artifacts, and overlooked details of the Cold War period in Germany.
